Reindeer Cheeseball

Reindeer Cheeseball

  • Total Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, finely shredded
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup pecans, finely chopped
  • 2 large pretzel twists for antlers
  • 2 sliced black olives for eyes
  • 1 cherry tomato or a piece of red bell pepper for the nose

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Use a sturdy spatula or a hand mixer on low speed to blend everything together until the mixture is smooth and the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  2. Lay out a large piece of plastic wrap on your counter. Scoop the cheese mixture onto the center of the wrap and use your hands to gather the edges, forming the cheese into a firm ball. Once shaped, wrap it tightly and place it in the refrigerator for at least one hour. This helps the flavors meld and ensures the ball is firm enough to hold its shape when decorated.
  3. Remove the chilled cheese ball from the plastic wrap. Roll the ball in the finely chopped pecans, pressing gently so the nuts adhere to the entire surface. Make sure the ball is completely covered, as this serves as the reindeer’s fur and provides a lovely crunch.
  4. Place the coated cheese ball on your serving platter. Gently press two pretzel twists into the top sides of the ball to act as the antlers. Place the two olive slices in the center for the eyes and finish by pressing the cherry tomato or red bell pepper piece just below the eyes to create the iconic red nose.
