Jalapeno Popper Dip

Jalapeno Popper Dip

  • Total Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 6 large fresh jalapenos, seeded and finely diced
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked turkey bacon, crumbled
  • 4 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. While the oven is warming up, grease a medium-sized baking dish or a 9-inch pie plate with a little bit of butter or non-stick spray to ensure nothing sticks to the sides during the baking process.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Use a hand mixer or a sturdy spatula to blend them together until the mixture is completely smooth and free of lumps. Stir in the garlic powder and smoked paprika at this stage to evenly distribute the seasoning.
  3. Add the diced jalapenos, the shredded cheddar cheese, the Monterey Jack cheese, the crumbled turkey bacon, and most of the sliced green onions to the bowl. Fold everything together gently until the peppers and cheese are evenly distributed throughout the creamy base.
  4. In a small separate bowl, toss the panko breadcrumbs with the melted butter. Stir them until the crumbs are evenly coated, which will help them turn a beautiful golden brown in the oven. You can also add a pinch of dried parsley here for a little extra Christmas color.
  5. Spread the cheese mixture into your prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula. Sprinkle the buttery breadcrumbs evenly over the entire surface. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dip is bubbling around the edges and the topping is golden and crisp.
