Boursin Cheese Tree

Boursin Cheese Tree

  • Total Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 10.4 ounces Boursin Garlic and Fine Herbs cheese (two 5.2 oz packages)
  • 1/2 cup fresh flat leaf parsley, very finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons pomegranate seeds
  • 1 small yellow bell pepper, cut into a star shape
  • 1 pretzel rod or a sturdy rosemary sprig
  • Assorted crackers, pita chips, or sliced cucumber for serving

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Shape the Cheese Base: Remove the cheese from its packaging and place it on a sheet of plastic wrap. Use your hands to press the cheese together, forming it into a tall cone shape that resembles a pine tree. Ensure the base is wide enough to stand sturdy on its own. If the cheese is too soft, you can place the wrapped cone in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes to firm up.
  2. Step 2: Prepare the Herb Coating: On a shallow plate or cutting board, mix the finely chopped parsley and dill together. This blend of herbs provides a realistic evergreen look and a fresh, bright flavor. Make sure the herbs are very finely minced so they adhere easily to the surface of the cheese.
  3. Step 3: Coat the Tree: Carefully roll the cheese cone in the herb mixture, pressing gently so the herbs cover every part of the cheese. You may need to use your hands to sprinkle herbs onto the top and into any small gaps. Once fully coated in green, place the tree upright on your serving platter.
  4. Step 4: Decorate Your Tree: Gently press the pomegranate seeds into the cheese to act as colorful ornaments. Place the yellow bell pepper star on the very top of the cone. If you want a trunk, insert a short piece of a pretzel rod or a rosemary sprig into the bottom center of the tree before placing it on the plate.
  5. Step 5: Serve and Enjoy: Arrange your favorite crackers, pretzels, and fresh vegetables around the base of the tree. Serve immediately while the cheese is chilled but soft enough to spread easily onto the crackers.
